Workforce Boulder County (WfBC) is seeking to hire a Career/Financial Trainer to join our highly passionate, knowledgeable, and skilled Training Team. Our team leads workshops on topic areas including career acquisition and retention, interpersonal skills, homeownership, and personal financial management skills.
For this Career/Financial Trainer position, we're looking for an individual to develop and lead career development and financial management workshops, as well as provide individual short-term coaching on these topics. This position will involve building and strengthening partnerships within the community, outreach and recruitment of clients, and expansion of our current offerings.

This is a full-time, benefitted position. This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, with the potential of evening and weekend hours to facilitate or support workshops and/or attend outreach events. The primary work location is at The Hub, 515 Coffman, Longmont, Colorado. This position is currently working primarily remotely, with subject to change per safety guidelines. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $51,816.00 - $55,542.00 Annually
Classification Salary Range: $51,816.00 - $74,520.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- First Round Interviews: Week of October 31st
- Second Round Interviews: Week of November 7th
- Tentative Start Date: Week of December 5th
Examples of Duties
Facilitate & Coach
- Lead group workshops in virtual and in-person environments. Work with people one-on-one in short term coaching sessions (in both English and Spanish, preferred)
- Create an individual and group environment that is engaging, strength-based, supportive, fun, humorous, and motivational
- In group settings, simultaneously tend to the diverging needs of multiple clients
- Approach clients with curiosity, convey empathy for clients' situations, and set productive boundaries; encourage client participation and co-creation of goals
- Show enthusiasm for and demonstrate knowledge of subject matter
Curriculum Development & Enhancement
- Maintain current, ongoing content knowledge of career development and financial management topics such as career exploration/coaching, resume development, job search support, interview preparation, budgeting, building credit, and debt management
- Design and refine curriculum to reflect current community needs related to employment, education, financial stability, and homeownership
- Stay current with workshop curriculum development and adult learning practices and methodologies; incorporate into workshop content and delivery
Outreach & Community Collaboration
- Proactively collaborate with agencies in the community to build partnerships and connection
- Outreach and recruitment of clients, and, if bilingual, support expansion of our current offerings for Spanish-speaking clients
- Represent agency at job fairs, networking events, other community events
- Show enthusiasm for our programming and generate community engagement
- Create a spirit of collaboration with internal and external partners around shared clients
Program & Agency Operations
- Provide administrative support for virtual and in-person workshops
- Regularly engage with workshop scheduling and data entry, collection and reporting
- Assist with workshop coverage for peers as needed
- Actively participate in regular team meetings
- Collaborate with entire WfBC agency on inter-agency projects to advance WfBC goals and initiatives
- Performs related duties as required
- May be reassigned in emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of 6 years of combined education and experience in social work/service, human service, communication, education, public health, psychology/mental health, sociology, gender studies, social justice, criminal justice or related field.
BACKGROUND CHECK & FINGERPRINTING:

- Bilingual in English and Spanish

- Two (2) years of group coaching/facilitation
