    SUMMARY

    This supervisory position will oversee a team of staff in the refugee resettlement program, who will be focused on quality assurance and administrative support, community outreach and volunteer engagement, and intensive case management.

    Employing a strengths-based coaching approach, the Case Coordinator manages a team of direct service staff that work with refugees. The Case Coordinator ensures that services are holistic, equitable, trauma-informed, culturally/linguistically appropriate, and grounded in a multi-generational approach. Leveraging client strengths and client agency, the Case Coordinator works collaboratively with clients and staff to address barriers to clients' goals. The incumbent will coordinate with members of the service team as well as other LFSRM staff and external partners to ensure smooth service delivery.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinates all aspects of initial client intake and assessment, using motivational interviewing techniques to create resettlement plans in collaboration with clients, empowering them to set and achieve long- and short-term goals.
    • Manages a team of direct services staff, through delegation, training, and performance evaluation. Coordinates and oversees all team activities in support of the resettlement plan, including housing, community orientation, employment, and health services.
    • Serves as an advocate and resource for clients and ensures equal treatment to all client groups in accordance with the agency's commitment to the dignity of all persons.
    • Maintains responsibility for services to clients on assigned caseload. Conducts regular review of service provision, including adjustment of resettlement plans in collaboration with clients.
    • Maintains working knowledge of resources that are available to support clients in achieving stability and integration in their communities. Ensures that clients are referred and connected to resources as needed. These resources may encompass basic needs, career advancement, education, social bridging, building social capital, and other service areas.
    • Documents service provision and follow up in case files and relevant databases. Conducts regular case file reviews for program compliance and quality assurance purposes.
    • Understands and stays current on relevant program and funder requirements and the implementation thereof.
    • Attends and participates in staff meetings and any applicable partner meetings.
    • Utilizes reporting and data to inform service provision and program compliance.
    • Abides by high quality of standards of service delivery expectations of LFSRM, State agencies, Department of Health and Human Services - Office of Refugee Resettlement, and Department of State.
    • Provides positive team building leadership through communication, cooperation, information sharing, and problem solving.
    • Collaborates with program administrators to implement, maintain, and enhance a comprehensive, sustainable Refugee & Asylee program.
    • Complies with all federal, state and LFS contracts.
    • Demonstrates an organized and pro-active approach to services to clients, program reporting and communication to all agency staff.
    • Participates in community outreach activities that advance the work and message of the Refugee & Asylee Programs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Cross cultural sensitivity and knowledge with the ability and desire to work with people of other cultures, including limited English speakers.
    • Strong leadership skills, including a proven ability to lead a team through change
    • The ability to adapt to a fast paced working environment that involves constant change and to be flexible and resilient.
    • Broad knowledge of practices, principles, and methods employed in the resettlement of refugees.
    • Written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and to make presentations.
    • Detail oriented, extensive documentation skills, organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
    • Skilled at crisis management, mediating conflict, and decision-making.
    • Maintains punctuality for work, appointments and report dates.
    • Ability to self-start but also works well in a team setting. Can collaborate effectively with others.
    • Computer skills in MS applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and relational databases.
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto liability insurance at the level of 100,000/300,000/100,000.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university required, preferably in social work or a related human services field. Master's degree in related field preferred. 3 or more years of experience in case management, social work, especially in refugee resettlement. 2 or more years of supervisory experience, including conducting quality assurance and monitoring program compliance and performance.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position supervises up to 6 staff.
