We at the Boulder County Farmers Market in Longmont are looking to hire a fluent Spanish speaker to work every Saturday from 7:30 am to 1:15 pm, April through mid November, as an on site Longmont Food Access Coordinator (WIC, SNAP, Double Up bucks, etc). This is a brand new position that we have never had before but received some funding for this year only (yay!), and we are so excited because often our English speaking staff couldn't answer questions of those food access recipients who are Spanish speaking. We have a job description and wonder if you have a place to post this online or otherwise?
We are also looking for a volunteer from Longmont and a volunteer from Lafayette who is a recipient of at least one food access program/currency at the market to serve on our food access advisory board, and they receive a $50 check from us once a month for a meeting that is on a Thursday from 10 to 11 am monthly at our offices in Boulder.
Additionally, we may be looking for a fluent Spanish speaker to potentially call WIC (Women Infants and Children) families to let them know that we expect to have WIC available ($20 per family per week in Longmont for Longmont families; $20 a week in Lafayette for Lafayette families) one time in March to alert them of the program and that unlike the past when it was only 8 weeks in Boulder, we are hoping that it will last during most of the market season! This one time job (may take several days; we have about 1,000 Longmont families on WIC) job would be $15 an hour, and we can create a posting for it as well if we definitely decide to call everyone (it's under discussion).
